What is a Regitered Dietitian?
Registered Dietitian Nutritionists (RDNs) are health professionals specializing in food and nutrition. Dietitians provide a behavioral health approach to nutritional care to help you reach your long-term health goals.
Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) is a nationally recognized credential. At Nourish, all our dietitians are RDNs, which means that they have completed a Bachelor or Master’s degree in Nutrition, passed a national exam, and complete a number of ongoing continuing education credits annually.
Are Dietitians the same as Nutritionist?
No, they are not the same. The title “nutritionist” is not a protected title, which means that anyone, including yourself, can call themselves a nutritionist. At Nourish, all our providers are Registered Dietitian Nutritionists (RDN) which is a legally protected title. Registered Dietitian Nutritionists must complete a Bachelor or Master’s degree in Nutrition, pass a national exam, and complete a number of ongoing continuing education credits annually.
With Nourish, you can be sure that you are speaking with licensed health professionals that have been trained in nutrition and dietary intervention.
Is Nourish covered by insurance?

Not at all. Your dietitian works with your preferences and lifestyle to build something sustainable — not restrictive.
Will insurance cover my sessions?
Nourish is currently in-network with 6 major insurance companies: Blue Cross Blue Shield / Anthem, United Healthcare, Aetna, Cigna, Medical Mutual of Ohio, and Medicare (including Wellmed and Devoted Health).

In some rare cases, there are costs associated with using insurance. The Nourish Guarantee is our commitment to providing a no-surprise billing experience for you:
- If your appointment gets denied, we won’t charge you for any appointments that have already occurred. You get those appointments for free.
- If your appointment has a copay or coinsurance, you will not be charged more than your initial estimate for any appointments you’ve had until we learn your real cost. Once we learn your actual copay or coinsurance, you will be immediately notified over email. For future appointments thereafter, you will be charged the full copay or coinsurance amount.
- If your appointment goes towards your deductible, we’ll offer you two options for any appointments that already took place until that point:
- You can either pay the deductible and keep doing appointments covered by insurance, or
- You can choose to not pay it and we won’t charge you anything for appointments you’ve had.
